This Party Girl Is Not Good At Dieting

I have been trying to diet for what seems like forever!!! I have had a great time but I have not made any progress. I have decided that I need to challenge myself to actually make some progress. I am going to not drink for one week. It sounds easy enough, it's only one week for Christ sake!!!! Working in a social industry has made it more of a challenge. I am going to do my best this week. I need to chose a reward for myself. Here I go, wish me luck!

I'm Not Giving Up!

I have finally lost a little weight!! I almost always weigh more on Monday than I do on Friday. However, this week I actually weigh less. I think one factor is I have started cooking. I have a serious aversion to raw meat, so I have never enjoyed cooking before. Now you can buy so many varieties of precooked meats that I don't have to deal with it. Before my husband and I would either go out or get take out. I'm having trouble tracking my points, but it still seems to be working. Plus, I think we are saving money. It's hard to tell at first because you have to gather so many ingredients, but now that I have some it's getting easier. I would love to feel better about my weight by May, my birthday.

Why Is It SO Hard To Be Good?!

Dear Lord!!! I've been trying to be on this diet for months and actually telling people about it for 2 weeks. I have in fact, made progress. I am back to the weight I started at. I know that doesn't sound like anything, but I went on a party bender and was way up. Well?! I'm not perfect! I'm party girl on a diet, not perfect person on a diet!
I have already gone the first day, today, with out tracking my points. However, I had fun and I did start my day with a walk. I also saw a great band and some great friends. I give today a high happiness mark.

Party Girls First Week On A Diet


It was a rough week. There was way more fun to be had than I had points to do it with. Poor me! Well, it could e worse:) I did lose some of the water weight from going out so I'm actually back to where I started. I learned a few things from my first week documenting my diet and that's a win. My husband is off this week so I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities to go out to dinner and drink. I need to increase my exercise and be sure to track my points.

I Gained Weight!!!!

Day 4:

So, it's day four of this party girl trying to diet and I have actually gained weight!!! WTF?! I guess eating out and not exercising much isn't a good weight loss plan. I did lose track of my points at dinner last night. Today is the start of a new Weight Watchers week, so I'm not going to give up.
Here's my plan, I'm going to try again with tracking my points. Even when it's bad news. I am also going to shoot for 30 minutes of exercise 4 days this week. Wish me luck!

Is This Diet Over Yet?!

Day 3:

I did it!! I stuck within my allowed points yesterday. I was too sore to work out, but hey, one day at a time. I am planning to go out to dinner after work tonight, so I made sure to walk this morning. I walked to the store and back for a total of 25 minutes. With the weekend coming tomorrow I know that the pressure will be on to do my best.

Confessions Of A Dieting Party Girl

Day 2:
I'm not really off to a great start. I said I wasn't going to be perfect, so at least I was right. I did have a success, I finally made it all the way through the first mission on Fitness Ultimatum 2011. I am sooooo sore!! In a good way though.
As far as diet goes it was a high point day! First there was wine tasting. Have I mentioned I love wine? Then there was dinner out which I also love. And of course, more wine. In the end I used 48 points. Unfortunately, my daily limit is 29. The upside is I did track my points even though I didn't like what I saw. That's a huge improvement.
I'm too sore to workout today, but I feel confident I can keep my points in check. I'm never going to stop going out so I just have to learn to adapt. Now it's time for more Advil and my heating pad:)

What Happens When a Party Girl Goes On A Diet?

Day One:
What happens when a party girl goes on a diet? Well, I guess we're going to find out. This party girl is pushing 40 and maximum density!!! I have been pretending to be on a diet for years. You know the routine, diet 4-5 days per week and do whatever you want the rest of the time. I am going to document my fresh start. I'm not going to be perfect, no one is, but I'm going to write it down anyway.
I'm going to recommit to Weight Watchers. I know this program can work for me if I follow it. I'm going to count my points even when I go way over!!! Usually I just bag it for the week the minute it's inconvenient or discouraging.
I am going to set my exercise goal at 30 minutes per day 4 days per week to start. I love to walk and I just bought Jillian Michaels for the Wii, Fitness Ultimatum 2011. I really don't like to exercise to be honest. I do, however, love wine.
My biggest hurdle will be me. I love to have fun!! I consider going out to eat and drinking with friends to be the best form of entertainment. I work in media and it's a very social industry. In addition I really enjoy my coworkers. I know these are great "problems" to have.
My goal is to combine my party lifestyle with a diet and fitness routine that will help me meet my goals. I'll drink to that!
